Product of the Week - Portable Submersible Pump

This week's product is the Eco Flow portable Submersible pump. You may have seen me use this in the "what is permaculture" video.

This thing has been great for me. Now I've only had it for 2 years, and so far so good. I toss this thing in my artesian well overflow pond and I can pump free water to my gardens. I've found it has roughly 20 feet of head (how high it can pump). Handles solids up to 1/8" diameter; up to 2880 gph at low head (spec sheet, but that seems about what I experience also).

The only thing I don't like about this thing is that the hose screw-on is plastic. So just be really careful you don't strip the thread (make sure you are square before you thread a metal hose fitting onto this). I do that by lining it up, rotating it backwards until it seats on the threat start, then threading it on. That's a general thing you should anytime you thread anything to anything. But definitely do it here, with a plastic hose connection.

Other pumps can be better but they also cost $300+. This one has been great and I've seen it up for under $100 CDN.
